David Shore was indeed a big fan of Conan Doyle and lovingly provided Dr. House with Holmes features. So, House found a loyal friend Wilson, a love of music and addiction to drugs. Some hints about Holmes in the series lie on the surface (for example, House's apartment number is 221B), while others are hidden deeper. So, a family friend, whom House considers his real father for almost all eight seasons, bears the surname of the prototype of Holmes — Bell. In the fifth season, House receives a real—life book by Joseph Bell "Manual of Surgical Operations" as a gift, at the same time Wilson jokingly mentions House's fictional patient, Irene Adler.
The last name of the man who shot Gregory House in the second season is Moriarty. And staged by the main character in the finale of the eighth season, his own death is so Holmes-like! The method of work of Sherlock Holmes, formulated by him in The Sign of Four, sounds like this: "Discard everything that could not take place, and there will be only one fact, which is the truth." Думаю что Хаус намеренно решил пожертвовать Чейзом чтобы сохранить Формана, но ставка не сыграла.

И Хаус поступил гадко - просто отыгрался на нём. Но до чего же приятно было, что вся команда - включая Кадди и Уилсона за него вступилась, это было мило)
Мне кажется, нам прямо ярко подчеркнули эту их разницу в их разговоре, отличное завершение ветки.
А я думаю, если врач не находит свой способ получать удовольствие от работы - он выгорит моментально (как и в других помогающих профессиях). И никакой это не эгоизм, а инстинкт самосохранения. У Хауса он просто больной и выкрученный, и он неосознанно стремится всех вокруг сделать такими же.
Итоги:
Все больше и больше я вижу развитие персонажей и их отношений друг с другом, это не может не радовать. Сезон завершите вполне логично и без драм с чьей то смертью и т.д.
