The series has only 2 disadvantages, in my opinion: Terrible humor and Slow narration. I have never understood the humor that is based on how a girl/girl beats up the main character. They beat him, call him names, mock him, and from episode to episode it all happens the same way, ruthlessly and not funny. It's sad that this is the only kind of humor here, and it pops up quite often. As for the narrative, I don't remember the last time I saw such a chatty fantasy. And I don't seem to mind, because their conversations are always on the case, through them we get to know the world and follow the plot. However, there are too few dynamic scenes, they are always unexpected and short. At first it was very interesting - I liked the world, and I really love fantasy as a genre, but after 12 episodes, the chatter began to tire and I had to dilute it with other series.
I didn't really like the design of the clothes - when you look at fettesie in the Middle Ages, it's strange to see a school/military uniform of our days and something like jeans + a T-shirt. But when the design was in the style of the era, it looked very good. The anime has beautiful drawing and nice graphics, I was surprised that it was so expensive to draw in 2010! Up to episode 18, the graphics change dramatically from there - I think the ratings dropped and the budget was cut. There were immediately crooked faces, jerky animations, and even less dynamics in battles. Even the pattern of the eyes has changed. What often surprises me in anime is that it seems to you that you have already understood the idea and are nearing the denouement, and then new characters begin to appear, new plot lines open up, and it becomes clear that the world is much wider, and by the end of the season you obviously won't finish. The author of the original source clearly decided to show something huge, interesting and complex. And we are shown a filler in episode 23. On the last 24, of course, they staged an extravaganza of plot twists - Shion and Rainer explained themselves very interestingly. As a result, it turned out that in 10 hours of their time they watched only the prologue ... The result: an interesting, good fantasy is very suitable for fishing. Against the general background, there are a lot of shortcomings and poor directing (IMHO).
Sadness. There is a lot of pathos and big words, but in fact an ill-conceived and torn plot. The humor is hackneyed. The storylines are factory-made, actually it was hard to watch.
An interesting start. Shitty and of the same type of humor. The narrative is too slow. A lot of pathos. The lack of logic in the actions of the characters. The crumpling of the ending (which in the end is not the ending at all). All.
