A fairly standard plot with a set of long-familiar cliche types, but with a relatively fresh profile of the unit's activities for English police series. And the corresponding specifics are unsightly vices and ambiguous circumstances, inevitable temptations and gray moral zones. It adds drama to the fact that detectives often act very unprofessionally, relying, as a rule, not on logic, but on some kind of intuition, and this intuition almost as often fails them.
It was delivered, filmed and mounted quite traditionally. Good casting, very strong performers in the central roles. But I'm not sure they understand who and what they should play. The dialogues are a bit artificial and theatrical. But the main drawback, in my opinion, is the general genre disorder with a noticeably crude script and an unjustified emphasis on emotions and all kinds of relationships.
The result is a very mediocre police detective series. Despite the excellent cast, intrigue, cunning villains, dangerous adventures and even the death of one of the main characters, it turned out to be unexpectedly boring, boring and depressing.
Language. They speak vividly, naturally, sometimes quickly, often not very intelligibly. There are enough accents, slang and wordplay. Subtitles are very useful, but they were only found for two seasons, it was not easy without them.
@ElizabethCruces: I thought I would give you the address of the series' page on my website (I always have links to the source at the bottom of the pages), but it turned out that there is now a live link only to the distribution on tvchaosuk - but this is a "closed" tracker. Don't worry too much, the series is really quite mediocre. And don't blame me for responding with such a delay))
