Description
Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity's greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
Gorgeous Zendaya.
Gorgeous Timothy Chalamet.
Perhaps I expected more, however, on the whole, it turned out well. The visual is as always on top, but I would like more fullness of this very timing, semantic load, with which there have been obvious problems in modern film construction for more than five years, if we take something popular, namely tapes designed for a person with popcorn in search of spectacles.
The actors were recruited nothing like that, but the plot is banal, a showdown in the style of the Chinese provinces of the time of Emperor Zyu. Of course, there is a chosen boy in the middle, who bears all the responsibility for the life to come. Some kind of super duper witch clan, a ridiculous fat baron... And where without a lady of the heart in nightmares))) For a very long time, they escalated the attack on Paul's family. We finished, as they say, on the most interesting thing.
The advantages in the graphics are that the planet with sand and worms is pretty well made.
I recommend both films if you liked Dune.
I bought and read all 24 books on it. and I'm damn glad it was Villeneuve who filmed it. imho is one of the few directors who has both visual and content on top.
"Here I stand" are the Duke's last words. "Standing here" is the motto of the Marmonts.
Harkov's chemical protection suits are purely Among Us. and they also look like Sardine suits from Lynch's dune.
The spider "pet" of the Harks is probably the work of the Tleilaxu and seems to be made of a woman. because the Tleilaxu despise women.
I read that the imperial planetologist is played by a woman of the type to increase the role of women in the film. and the fact that the Bene Gesserit rules the great houses from the shadows (orders the Baron himself!) It doesn't seem to matter?!
fanfact. The Harks pumped out 10 billion worth of spice. tanning salons annually, and they spent profits on transporting troops for 60 years (according to the book)😮
I like a lot of moments
"The Harkonnens have been ordered to leave the planet by the Emperor's decree." mega-epic. The power of the emperor is felt.
- bagpipes in the distant future - for me, not a Brit, it sounds unusual/ alien and at the same time traditional/familiar. as is the throat singing of the Sardinian shaman (although it is a tradition for my people).

- landing of sardines. slowly and quietly.
- the work of the beamer. An unstoppable laser cutting through everything in its path. with enough power, it will pierce the planet.
- The formal attire of Jessica and the maids is simply chic. form-fitting dresses with a train in the wind. (the fate of these maids is interesting and unenviable. either they died or even worse in slavery to the Harks)
: In a melee battle, an average Atreides soldier will defeat 3-5 average soldiers of another house. Sardaukar will defeat 3-5 Atreus soldiers. Freeman 3-5 sardines. And the Bene Gesserit sisters are definitely more skilled than the Fremen. One sister will probably defeat 3 Fremen, and this turns out to be 20-30 ordinary soldiers. There are also Ginaz sword masters, but these are rare elite warriors, one of them is Duncan, who killed 20 Sardis.
I don't like the agenda, but the Fremen are organically selected. these are essentially Arabs/Negroes.
in general, I like castes. imho Chalamet is better suited to the role of Paul than Kyle McLachlan or Alec Newman. young and skinny.
Now, when reading Dune, I imagine it is him. So is Gurney-Brolin. Duncan is Momoa. Stilgar - Bardem (Steven Berkoff from the series is also not bad). Mohiyam is a Rampling. Rabban Batista.
Lady Jessica is more difficult-Francesca Annis and Rebecca Ferguson are both good. and then there's Alice Krige from the series. and the Duke, with all due respect to bearded men🧔🏻 Oscar and Jurgen like William Hurt better. So is Ian McNeice. imho this is the best baron. according to the book, the baron is not only cruel and treacherous, but also talkative and theatrical like Nero (his last words, by the way, "What kind of artist dies").
The most difficult thing is Chani. Zendea is a great fit - dark-skinned and cute. But young Sean Young😁 is still about*uenna😘
