Brilliant, I read books after him, but this is not a frequent case when the film did not spoil the book

It's a very good movie. It rarely happens that a film based on a book can be called a good one. I understand that it is difficult to put four volumes of a novel in almost four hours, but according to the book, Scarlett had a son from her first husband Charles. It's a shame that this fact was removed from the film. But in general, I really liked it, it was nice to remember my favorite characters.

It's a great movie, almost my favorite. How old is it, and it still remains an imperishable masterpiece. Watch strictly in voiceover from ORT. The costumes, the acting, the epicness in the war scenes are unsurpassed. And Scarlett O'Hara has been my ideal for many years

The film is good, but too many important things have been removed from the book. Due to the limited screen time, the minor characters were not as expressive as in the book, many were simply removed, so I would like to now shoot a series where everything will be taken into account. However, it's hard to imagine that the main roles of Scarlett and Rhett could be played better, these two are simply admirable. However, if we take this as a story, then in my opinion it is not well told in the film: the main events were put there, where there is a lot of action, a lot of emotions, so the narrative resembles hummocks without plains. No one stops to think about what happened. It would be difficult for me to keep track of what's going on if I didn't know what the book was about. A simple life where Scarlett works on a farm, in a shop, at a sawmill, travels around the city and makes clever deals is not enough. This is also important for her portrait - what a strong spirit she has. And her two children from a previous marriage, her coldness towards them and Rhett's warmth towards her stepson and stepdaughter were important elements of their characters. In general, the film is good, I really liked the main characters, costumes and scenery. But I'm drowning for "Pride and Prejudice" 1995 and I don't like the version with Keira Knightley, so in "Gone with the Wind" I would like to see more of the everyday life of those times, not just the key events and the passion of the main characters.

I really love this movie and I like it even more than the book. A unique case.
I don't like Scarlett, but Vivien Leigh plays her with such charm that in the film I couldn't take my eyes off her and involuntarily got into this character. And I'm still worried about the end. Even though I think she doesn't deserve Rhett, I still want to believe that he forgave her in the end.
But my main love in both the book and the movie is Melanie. It turned out to be a very strong, touching and noble image. My favorite character.
The film is very bright, dynamic and causes a storm of emotions. I wanted to cry not once during the viewing

@KarlosdeFranko: ///Oh, the old south, how sorry it is///

> Well, how to say it. "Not everything is so clear." (C) There is an opinion that if the South had won. Then world history would have followed a slightly different track. Well there: Slaveholders with steamships and steam locomotives, with shackles and chains, which are forged in an industrial way. They forge for kilometers. :-(

And at the initial stage, they started cheerfully. An agricultural civilization with a high rate of profit, they constantly needed expansion, new lands. We went west, south to Mexico, discovered Nicaragua, north. Again, the pyramid of society: There are slaveholders upstairs. There are disenfranchised slaves below, a talking instrument. And the middle class ekes out a miserable existence. Why? Why would you pay if there are slaves? And what positions can you apply for when there are slaves? Only if the Walls are open. :-(

@Citokos: I don't know which is worse, slavery, or the sweatshop labor system in Yankee factories. At least it made economic sense to take care of the life and health of a slave, while a sick or dead worker was easily replaced, as happened all the time.

@KarlosdeFranko: ///sweatshop labor system in Yankee factories///

> Yeah. Nothing good from the current point of view. Although, then in those parts, at least it was possible to move. To another state, or to the west, or Mexico, or Canada. It was worse in England. You can't escape from the island. It's just genocide in fractions of a million. So many Welsh, so many Scots, so it came to the Irish. "Not good old England".

///At least it made economic sense to take care of the slave's life and health.///

Such conversations should be conducted in silence, on the record, surrounded by encyclopedias. Heat up the calculator. Where? What? When? And for what?

As I was told: The Southerners were relatively softer compared to... although there were white slaves. He was enslaved for a ship ticket across the Atlantic. Slavery is urgent. That's why they squeezed out all the juices. You chop the ceiling with your finger, you're a reed for five years. You'll be released as an invalid. And on the Caribbean islands, nerg lived for an average of two years! And the Fascists in that war. A third of the ostrabayters died. The death rate is higher than that of the Turks with their galleys! There are such stories. They brought the women to work and didn't feed them at all. The young Ukranian was enough for three months! It's cheaper to buy a new one than to feed it.

What kind of development this business plan received in the future is a guessing factor.

@KarlosdeFranko: /// the current world is falling into the abyss///

Yeah. The peak of resources has been passed. Oil 20 years ago. Oil surrogates 5 years ago. In the West, 10-25% of the industry has evaporated since 2007-08, depending on the country. China is growing. But how much coal does he have left? But India did not have time.

/// any change in the past could give a chance to civilization///

> Human power is 200 watts, 150 legs, 50 arms. Check the exact numbers yourself. Keep an eye on the price of electricity!

///Now there is no chance anymore.///

There is an opinion that there are literally a couple of decades left to really go into space like this. And then that's it. The window of opportunity will close. Mars and Ceres are waiting for us!!!

In some places it was shot identically to the book, down to the lines of the main characters, in some places a lot was omitted and redone. But the film is magnificent, the golden fund of classics. Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable are amazing. Since childhood, the film has stuck in my memory, I love it to this day.

A classic masterpiece. They don't take it off now.
The first part of the film has some parallels with our Soviet cinema epic War and Peace. Both are tragedies, love against the background of historical tragic military events. I think many people have noticed, even those who haven't read the books.
Great acting, scale, extras, music and fantastic sunsets ...
The duration is almost 4 hours, even the Lord of the Rings is resting.

I watched this movie on TV yesterday and I'm just as excited!! I think people miss a lot by not watching this great movie! I think this is the masterpiece that lasts longer than 3 hours, but you will never get tired of reviewing it and you will always want to! one of my favorite movies. Vivien and Clarke played admirably. I love both the book and the movie)
well, you don't even have to talk about the chemistry between the actors. During this time, it was never boring, even the second time I watched it.

Like probably any girl, it was very interesting for me to watch the unfolding of Scarlett's character, which even at the beginning of the films already had a certain quip. A classic , timeless Oscar - winning movie ! Actor Clark Gable had incredible charisma, it's a pleasure to watch him play in this picture, he's excellent even despite the fact that he ate too much garlic before filming close scenes with Vivien Leigh 's character. The centenary of the film 's release is just around the corner, but I repeat, it 's BEAUTIFUL !

Honestly, I don't understand the excitement of this movie, I thought there would be pain, fear, and so on, but I saw the problems of a SPOILED WHITE GIRL who behaves like a 10-year-old child. The Yankees did them a bad turn, they fought and won to abolish slavery, and everyone in this town was against it. She fell in love with a man who did not love her and did not want to, ran after him and humiliated herself. Scarlet disgusts me, and it serves her right that all this happened to her. The most beloved characters of the film are the Captain and the Beauty, they are the most adequate.

It's not a masterpiece, but it was interesting to watch. It's a pity that Gone with the Wind 2 wasn't filmed, leaving the finale open. Although it is clear that there was no time for the second film, since the war had come.
