Description
Wounded in Africa during World War II, Nazi Col. Claus von Stauffenberg returns to his native Germany and joins the Resistance in a daring plan to create a shadow government and assassinate Adolf Hitler. When events unfold so that he becomes a central player, he finds himself tasked with both leading the coup and personally killing the Führer.
The plot is based entirely on the story of the assassination attempt on Hitler on July 20, 1944 (the last and most famous). At the same time, it cannot be said that the plot is boring and monotonous. The question is that the filmed story is interesting in itself. And the fact that the film captures from the first minute and holds the screen until the credits is the merit of the director. It should be noted that the film is superbly directed. Historical figures are written in the script at the highest level, and the actors who performed them gave their best. And this applies to all actors without exception. Even the episodic characters look incredibly authentic. The director and the actors perfectly managed to convey the characters and relationships of all the characters.
Von Staufenberg is, in my opinion, one of Tom Cruise's best roles in his entire film career.
At the same time, when watching a movie, you need to be aware that this is not a war film, but a historical drama.
