Filming of the "Highlander" reboot with Henry Cavill will begin in 2024

Lionsgate has started production of the movie "Highlander" — a reboot of the 1986 film of the same name. In the new version of the role of immortal warrior Connor MacLeod will play Henry Cavill, and will direct the action movie Chad Stahelski — director of the franchise "John Wick".

The draft script of the project was written by Michael Finch ("John Wick 4"), but it is not yet known whether his version will be taken into work. Stahelski himself describes the upcoming movie as "John Wick with swords".

Filming on the movie is set to begin next year. The publication Deadline reports that the budget of the reboot exceeds $100 million.

The upcoming movie will be based on the 1986 action film "Highlander" starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Conneryб and Clancy Brown. They played immortal warriors fighting each other. The picture received four sequels and three TV spin-offs.
