20th Century Studios has announced the premiere date for "The First Omen", a prequel to Richard Donner's classic horror film "The Omen". The new picture will appear in theaters on April 5, 2024.

The original movie, released in 1976, was about an american diplomat who believes his young son is the Antichrist. The plot of the prequel will center on a young American novice who travels to Rome, where she is to serve in a church. There she encounters darkness, which makes her doubt her own faith, and also learns about a terrible conspiracy, the purpose of which — the birth of the Antichrist.

The main role in the film was played by Nell Tiger Free from "Game of Thrones", the movie also starred Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy. The horror was directed by Arkasha Stevenson, for whom the project will be her feature debut.

Nell Tiger Free, in this case, is not from Game of Thrones, but from Shyamalan's House with Servants, participation in which, I strongly suspect, brought the main role in the prequel Omen. Well, in general, the Servant was clearly inspired by the Omen (and Rosemary's Baby, but I'm already leaving the topic). By the way, I believe that her character will become Damien's nanny from the first part. I am glad for the revival of the franchise. Since the time of the triquel with Sam Neal, nothing good has come out, although there were enough continuation books, and not the bad ones themselves.

The original film, released in 1976, told about a man who believes that his little son is the Antichrist.". Adopted son. A native died - let's call it that without unnecessary spoilers, suddenly someone did not see it - at birth.

@Bairum: yes, she was gorgeous as a servant, but who remembers her in Game of Thrones?)
