James Wan is working on an adaptation of Howard P. Lovecraft's story "The Call of Cthulhu"
Deadine has revealed that James Wan, creator of the "Saw" and "The Conjuring" franchises, is working on a feature-length adaptation of Howard P. Lovecraft's horror short story "The Call of Cthulhu".
The story centers on Francis Thurston of Boston, who investigates the activities of a demonic cult known as Cthulhu. Wan called this film adaptation a "dream project" and also said that he has already been working on it for five years.
Journalists learned about the movie from an announcement by the Chinese-American Stars-Hana Foundation, which is looking to develop video games based on some of the films — including "The Call of Cthulhu". Wang's "GMO" and "Mass Extinction" movies are also on the list.
"GMO" will tell the story of a drug that has been used to combat world hunger, but whose side effects dramatically accelerate the aging process.
According to the plot of "Mass Extinction", a team of researchers and rescuers are sent from the moon to Earth to deliver a drug to save the human race, which is dying because of an alien virus.
It has also been revealed that Wan and Sam Raimi are working on "The Burden".
