Brad Pitt will star in Quentin Tarantino's latest film "The Movie Critic"
Brad Pitt will star in the upcoming movie "The Movie Critic", directed and written by Quentin Tarantino. It is not known who exactly Pitt will play, but Deadline suggests that the actor will get the lead role.
"The Movie Critic" will be the third joint project between Pitt and Tarantino: previously they worked on the films "Inglourious Basterds" and "Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood". For his role in the latter, Brad Pitt received his first acting Oscar.
About their new joint project is known little. Tarantino said that the action of the tape will unfold in 1977 in Los Angeles, and the project, based on the story of a real-life person, will tell about a man who wrote movie reviews for a porn magazine.
In writing the script, Tarantino was inspired by a job he had as a teenager, loading porn magazines into a vending machine and pulling quarters out of the cash register. "All the other stuff was too skanky to read but then there was this porno rag that had a really interesting movie page", — the director shared. Tarantino particularly liked one critic who wrote caustically and cleverly.
However, Deadline notes that Tarantino significantly rewrote the script after that interview, so it's unclear what exactly the upcoming movie will be about.
It is likely that "The Movie Critic" will be Tarantino's last feature-length project. The director has repeatedly stated that he plans to end his movie career after his tenth film — and the upcoming movie will be it.
