Sarah Paulson has confirmed that the "Ratched" series has been shut down after its first season

Netflix decided not to shoot the second season of Ryan Murphy's series "Ratched", despite the fact that the project was previously renewed. This was revealed by Sarah Paulson, the performer of the main role.

"Ratched" is a prequel to Ken Kesey's novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and the movie of the same name. The project told the story of the work of head nurse Mildred Ratched in a psychiatric clinic and traced her path — from the beginning of her career from 1947 to the period described in the novel, when she was already tough and ruthless.

Netflix ordered production on two seasons of the project in 2017, and the first chapter of the show premiered in September 2020. The series received four Emmy Award nominations, but did not win any of them.

a great series, though these jumps from look to look and back are boring, but everything is possible and who knows, maybe they will decide to remove the second season, as with Enmity!

2017-Netflix ordered 2 seasons , okay , they're writing a story , hiring a team , etc., Netflix is on the rise
2018-2019- filming (?)
2020-the 1st season of Netflix is coming out at its peak
2021-2023- they kick the crap , they are waiting for something , perhaps they please so that everyone, everyone, everyone is comfortable . Netflix is slowly falling.
The 2024th TV series is dead.

I hate the approach 'the next season is unknown when ' and then this approach apparently killed the series.

@TVSeriesFan24: I was sick of covid myself. This will not change the fact that they :
1) 2 seasons were not filmed at once
2) Did not make any effort to write a scene in 2020-2021 and shoot in 2022 or early 2023.

If the series had been canceled back then, I would have been much less perplexed. And so the feeling from the article is that they did everything very slowly, and after the premiere of the 1st they scored a bolt at all. I haven't watched the series, I'll be glad if someone enlightens me that they made at least some effort for the second season.

Sarah said back in 2022 that it was unlikely there would be a second season. In 2023, apparently, there was still hope, but it did not work out. So maybe it's not the desire of actors, screenwriters, directors or all together that plays a role here, to shoot further.

@Kosinus1993-2: netflix generally has a bunch of TV shows in limbo. And the rest of the channels / streams are guilty of this. I have 35 TV series in my profile with the status "stopped", because it's not clear what's with them at all...

It might be useful: in the settings there is a slider "Only completed series get into the "Fully watched", all suspended projects will lie in "viewed" until the next season is released, then it will return to "now watching"

These jerks are Netflix, they close down useful things, and any nonsense or what has been going on for 100 seasons and they just suck it out of their fingers - they prolong it.
