David Fincher is rumored to be working on an American remake of "Squid Game"

World of Reel, citing journalist Jeff Snyder, reports that David Fincher ("MINDHUNTER") is working on an American remake of the Korean hit "Squid Game". The new project, like the original, will be released on Netflix.

According to Snyder, work on the remake began last year. In October, the project was mentioned by another industry insider publication — Production Weekly. It confirmed the development of an American version of "Squid Game" and listed Fincher as the show's producer. Snyder claims that David Fincher is still "quietly working" on the series and that Netflix is going to give the green light to produce it.

"Squid Game" series is about people who are in need of money. One day they suddenly receive an invitation to take part in a mysterious survival game with deadly high stakes to win $40 million. The game takes place in an unknown location where the participants will be locked in until a winner is determined.

The filming of the second season of the Korean project has already been completed and will premiere later this year.

The series on crypto-pastes took a good story as a basis, but it is impossible to convey it in a non-text format. @Angel_ognia: Because doing something new is always a risk. And big guys with big money don't really like taking risks. And in order for the big guys to invest in a new IP (and not the already familiar comics, books, movies, games), you need to power your project well. Literally put your head up.
And it's nowhere easier to make a remake of this series (and knowing Fincher will turn out exactly better than the original). It is also a pleasure to promote such a project.
P/S: What kind of thread is a redneck from the USA who is unable to distinguish "these identical Asian faces" and remember their "idiotic names" will be happy to look at and even ask for supplements.
