David S. Goyer has stepped down as showrunner of the "Foundation" series due to budget disagreements
The Hollywood Reporter has reported that "Foundation" series co-creator David S. Goyer will no longer serve as showrunner. According to the publication, this is due to disagreements on the budget of the third season of the project.
This became known before the resumption of filming, which was suspended due to strikes. The film crew will return to work on March 6, but now the production will be headed by executive producer Bill Bost. He will travel to Prague, where filming is taking place, while Goyer will continue to work on the series as a screenwriter. At the same time, according to The Hollywood Reporter, David S. Goyer will retain his position as showrunner despite the fact that the actual fulfillment of his duties will be Bill Bost.
According to the plot of the series, humanity has spread across various planets in the universe, ruled by the powerful Galactic Empire. After the psychohistorian Hari Seldon calculates the imminent collapse of the current order, he decides to gather the best minds of humanity and send them to live on the far end of the Galaxy to preserve the accumulated knowledge and more quickly overcome the inevitable period of barbarism.
The release date for the third season of the project, based on Isaac Asimov's novels, has not yet been revealed.
