Netflix has shut down the crime drama "The Brothers Sun"
Netflix has shut down the series "The Brothers Sun" starring Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien, and Sam Song Li. The project from Brad Falchuk (creator of "American Horror Story" and "Glee") and Byron Wu lasted one season.
The series premiered in early January. The show received positive reviews from critics (reviewers especially noted Yeoh's colorful acting) and spent five weeks in the top 10 English-language series on Netflix, but failed to attract a wide audience. By Netflix standards, the ratings of "Brothers" were quite modest: the number of weekly views did not exceed 7 million, and in the last two weeks of being in the top 10 — dropped below 2 million views.
The series was about a Taipei crime lord who dies at the hands of a mysterious killer. After that, his eldest son, legendary hitman Charles Sun, goes to Los Angeles. There live his mom Eileen and naive and frivolous younger brother Bruce, who previously knew nothing about what his family does. Now the Sun family is in danger, so the brothers will have to band together before one of their countless enemies kills them.
