Warner Bros. has revealed the first footage of "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" with Jenna Ortega and Michael Keaton
Warner Bros. has published the first shots of the movie "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" — a sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 cult comedy.
The footage showed all the main characters of the film: Beetlejuice, the role of which is again played by Michael Keaton, Lydia, again played by Winona Ryder, Lydia's daughter played by Jenna Ortega and Delia — Lydia's mother, to the role of which returned Catherine O'Hara. Also appearing in the photo was Justin Theroux, who played Rory.
The first "Beetlejuice" was about the Deetz family from New York who buy a new house in Connecticut. What they don't realize is that the house is haunted by a recently deceased ghost couple who really dislike the Deetz. The couple turns to Beetlejuice, a ghostly "bio-exorcist" who promises to help them deal with the new inhabitants of the house.
In the sequel's plot, after an unexpected family tragedy, the Deetz return to Connecticut. Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious daughter Astrid discovers a model of the town in the attic and accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife. It's only a matter of time before someone utters Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to wreak havoc once again.
The sequel was directed by Tim Burton, the director of the first installment, and the script was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the creators of the series"Wednesday". The film is scheduled to premiere on September 6.
