The animated series "Star Trek: Lower Decks" will end after its fifth season
The animated series "Star Trek: Lower Decks" is coming to an end: Paramount+ will close the project after the upcoming fifth season. The finale will premiere this fall.
The action of "Lower Decks" — the first animated series in the "Star Trek" universe — develops in the year 2380. The show tells the adventures of Captain Freeman and three members of the auxiliary crew serving on one of Starfleet's least important ships, the starship Cerritos.
Paramount+ has also renewed the series "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" for a fourth season. The show premiered in 2022, and right now filming is underway for the third installment, which is set for release in 2025. No release date for the fourth season has been revealed.
The series "Strange New Worlds" tells the story of the days when Captain Christopher Pike was at the helm of the USS Enterprise. The ship's crew explores new worlds and undertakes missions throughout the galaxy.

It is a pity, of course, that the Lower Decks are completed. Just recently, I watched all the episodes in one gulp (and now I seem to regret it). But I think it would be ideal for them to close the arches of the characters for just five seasons. Eh... Okay, let's wait for the finale 😌
Hulu, or anyone, where are you?)
Why doesn't this world accept animated series??? 😭😭
I'm rather skeptical about stretching the last 2 episodes to 2 seasons.
Moreover, if they want to return it, they will return it either as a new series about the same Persians, or something else, as they are doing now with cartoons on TV.
In general, now animation, especially 2D, is very expensive and pays off little.
Most likely, they will really just transfer the characters to Live Action and continue as long as they can
