MARUV's victory in the Ukrainian national selection is a victory over stereotypes about the Eurovision Song Contest, supposedly the contest died a long time ago, the rating is not the same, the mothballed repertoire of pretentious ballads about world peace, etc. Nevertheless, there is a place for actual modern music. Maruv just tore the stage to shreds! Against her background, everyone else seemed to be a creative amateur. Her self-confidence and play on contrast are very captivating: a provocative image and choreography using girls as props + a languid voice, a melodic oriental motif + a powerful wind and percussion hook.
