A Brighter Summer Day

What a thrill, I've been planning to watch the Taiwanese new wave for a long time, because I haven't seen much of my beloved Taiwan, plus I was wondering why, unlike Hong Kong, they didn't shoot the same kind of fighters in Taiwan, as a result, I immersed myself even more in the history of both Taiwanese cinema and Taiwan in general, thanks to Cloud for this, he advised me to start exploring the world of the new wave with this particular film, yes, 4 hours could scare even then, but no, I would not say that the film was long, although, to be honest, I certainly could not manage all 4 hours. I just didn't have time, maybe if I didn't take any breaks at all, I would have enjoyed this wonderful film even more, even though I fell in love with the beauty, melody, and colors of this film, in the best traditions of Asian cinema about life, a leisurely story about the life of Taiwan in the 60s, a story of tragic love, the showdown of young people, their lives against the background of Taiwan, which has not yet managed to become the happiest country, but the hope has already been born that life will continue to be better, despite all the obstacles that await this poor but proud country. Thank you to Cloud, thank you to Taiwan and the director for this masterpiece, definitely a great film from a great country.🇹🇼
