The bride's corpse, Frankenweenie, A Nightmare for Christmas
The corpse of the bride, the Nightmare at Christmas, Frankenweenie - these are all his cartoons directed, not counting short films.
Coraline (or Alina with the prefix "cor") drags the entire cartoon on her fragile shoulders. The character is interesting to watch. The others play along well with him, but that's all. That's probably how it should be.
I liked the household part of the cartoon more. Watching Kovralina's life (yes, I'm misrepresenting names again) was more interesting than watching her puppet adventures. It was all a little more cliched than necessary.
It's a pity that her friends didn't come at the end, it would have been a beautiful point. But an older woman who will listen to your story is also a good company. Probably.
Oh, yeah. Coraline's dad reminded Jimmy Neutron's father, only more battered by life.
