The Dead Don't Hurt

Unfortunately, it is difficult to call this film a western, because it does not have the usual and expected elements of the genre, and the story shown could take place in any setting. This is a rather boring drama about a married couple in which a man volunteered for the Civil War for no good reason, and a woman was forced to survive for several years in a town where unpleasant personalities are found.

At the same time, for some reason, we are told this story inconsistently, switching between the present and the past. There is not much point in such a decision. I can't say that the film is poorly shot or that there are bad actors in it. But I didn't find an answer for myself, why would anyone waste time on it.

I agree with the previous comment. The film is generally good, both the cast and the plot of the film. But some spark is missing. Somehow everything is pale and frankly boring in places.

I didn't finish it. It's too boring, too tedious, and for almost half of the film, there hasn't been a coherent plot that I'd like to watch. But what pushed me away, first of all, was a completely impossible heroine. A woman with such a lifestyle simply could not exist in the place and time shown. And if this would be excusable for a pseudo-historical action movie, then I didn't want to watch a supposedly serious drama at all...

Not for fans of disorderly bang bang and movement for the sake of movement. It's a very pleasant film for those who want to watch a movie about themselves.

The name translates correctly as "It doesn't hurt to be dead." There is a scene in the film in which this phrase sounds very unambiguous. In addition, it explains the motivation of one of the characters at a certain point in the story.
