My friend and I both cried at the end of the film. It's a very tragic story, although they don't really show any horrors of war. You immediately think about what would have happened to these children if it hadn't been for the selfless help of Nicholas and his friends.

In the beginning, I thought that the film was somehow dry, strange jumps in time, the editing was not smooth. And then I think, how sophisticated should a film on such a topic be? Yes, from an artistic point of view, it's not the strongest movie, but I still cried half the movie, and the emotions are still very strong.
And Anthony Hopkins will decorate any painting 🤍

I first found out about this story about 15 years ago, I don't even remember on which site, but there was a video from that very talk show.

At one time, the story was very hooked, and in my opinion, the creators and actors managed to convey the emotions and experiences of the heroes of that time, while making them empathize without even showing any military tin in an open form.

But if you are not familiar with the backstory and the same clip from the show, then the beginning of the film may seem boring.

The same Czechoslovakia that Poland did not let the Soviet army into to protect it from Germany, because they had already divided it among themselves. But Poland itself was later surprised by Hitler. But that's another story, it seems now everyone has their own. Hopkins, Carter, and even Price, the movie is at least worth watching because of these names. And everyone will judge in their own way. An interesting story about the rescue of Czechoslovak children, qualitatively filmed with excellent actors. I recommend.

@ZRaoulDuke: "the Soviet army" and "defense" in one sentence is, of course, very funny

@ZRaoulDuke: Wasn't it your Soviet army that divided Poland with Germany on September 1, 39? until the beginning of the Second World War, the USSR was an ally of Nazi Germany 🤧🤧

@Kostka: Read the paragraph above that everyone has their own story now. There is no point in proving anything to anyone, because neither you nor I were present at those events, and even our grandfathers may have been on different sides. Mine fought for the motherland in the Soviet Army. And some of them were Bandera traitors who fought for Hitler against the Soviet army, or they were just six guards in concentration camps.
