Only way to heal is to trust.

This story is about each of us. This story is about how difficulties are overcome on the way to happiness. This is a story about how important it is to find yourself before you find this world.

Everything in this world starts with yourself.

At first you come to a dead end, not understanding how you got to this point? You ask yourself: isn't this what I've been dreaming about? Then why am I so unhappy? Why is there a gaping void inside? And then the questions begin, addressed to God / the universe, and so on. Hoping to hear the answer to your question.

From this moment, the most difficult search begins — the search for oneself. Liz was right when she said that she didn't even have 2 weeks to herself. When you are alone with yourself, with your thoughts and trying to hear your inner voice.

We want to escape from what is happening so much, forgetting that wherever we run away, we always stay with ourselves. No matter how hard you try to numb the pain, sooner or later it will burst out in a waterfall of regret and guilt towards yourself, because once again you betrayed yourself. Once again, we turned away from our desire because we care about someone else. Not that caring about another person is not important, but, first of all, it is important not to betray yourself and be honest not only with yourself, but also with loved ones, realizing that the truth can sometimes bring pain and misunderstanding.

So, according to the plot, GG's adventures were divided into three stages — eat/Italy, pray/India, love/Bali.

In Italy, Elizabeth saw love in all its manifestations. Italians are very emotional, so they do not restrain themselves in expressing their feelings. Liz watched all this and was inspired. She was learning to notice how things could be different, not the way they were in her experience. She learned to relax and not think about anything, just eat ice cream, spaghetti and pizza, not caring that she would get better, and if she did, it would not make her a less attractive woman. She literally saw the ruins inside herself. A very touching and important moment was in this place — it was Thanksgiving, which they decided to arrange. A day when everyone thanked for something. Liz was truly grateful to see what she saw. Love and respect in a couple. She took a very important step towards healing by recognizing that there is happiness in love.

India was the next destination. A place where she learned discipline, where she learned to hear and listen to herself while immersed in meditation. The place that gave her an inner support, that precious balance that we strive for after losing everything. It was here that she was healed. What was very important here was her confession to herself, forgiving herself.

And finally, she went to Bali. A place free from prejudice. Where, just like in India, they do meditation, but without strict discipline, in relaxation. She came here to find answers, but she brought all the answers with her.

Sometimes the only way to heal is simply to trust what is happening. Because no one can predict what this or that choice will lead to. What will be the consequences? What awaits around the corner? Sometimes it takes a long time to find yourself and your real desires in order to hear and understand what you really want. And sometimes we cling to routine and imaginary balance so much that we forget to open our heart and let love into it. That's what you've been asking for all this time, isn't it, Liz? Then why, for such hard work, for all the way, when life decided to give you a gift in the form of what you asked for, did you get scared? Why did you back off? Why didn't you take it for yourself? Because you were afraid of losing your balance?

Sometimes to lose balance for love is a part of living balanced life.

Yes, balance is, among other things, sometimes losing balance in life. Because balance is about having white and black. It's about the good and the bad. About love and hate. About fear and courage. About openness and isolation. The balance is that every phenomenon has an antonym. And they coexist together like Yin and Yang.

And it's okay to lose your own balance sometimes when you're in love. It's normal to lose yourself and your bearings sometimes. It's normal not to understand what to do next. It's okay not to see the point.

And it is very important to go in search of your own truth every time. It is important to be brave, trust what is happening and move forward. Who knows what turn a real, sincere, faithful, reliable, warm, comfortable, healing, tender love awaits?

And yes, love can fade away, go out and just outlast itself. No one is immune from this. No one knows what the next falling in love will lead to. Will it be "they lived happily ever after" or "the ships dispersed like at sea"? There is no answer.

The point is to live. Right now, in the present moment. To open up to love, new adventures and be grateful for everything that happens, because looking at your film at some point you realize that every person on the way is an important element, it's a teacher. Someone teaches you to love yourself, someone to let go, someone to be more courageous in their decisions. And as long as we feel, we really live. We live every second of this life. It makes sense.

I would like to adapt the book in the form of a mini-series (4 episodes : New York / Italy / India / Bali), as for the film all at once = very intense.

Having taken place in every sense of the American Dream, a woman loses herself. When planning the search for her beloved, the heroine hedges risks and divides the search into three parts, material, spiritual, and mental. Everything is very gentle, the piano is playing-fucked up, I'm like Siberian cattle every 20 minutes, I want to ask "where does the money come from, is it so curly to be unemployed?". The film is the tenth, but in the spirit of the noughties, not life, but a template. Each attribute looks like a manual. For example, a bald, bespectacled grandfather, a typical elder assistant, who can really kick a stranger like that and not get a pussy? It's also a little white supremacy, a white heroine (unemployed!) It is not possible to stop being the axis around which the earth rotates, and even wise Asians tell you how to choose it. In this movie, guns are fired immediately, even if it would be possible to pull, but darling turns out to be a son after a couple of minutes. There is such a rapid transformation of the soul that Balinese become a family in three months, well, how can you not be a white savior and not come home.
It is clear that I am a little toxic here, but it infuriates that the questions raised here are relevant, and the answers are not true. It doesn't happen that way in life. Why does a film about self-search not explain the mechanics of healing the soul, even if it is an allegory? Even the conflicts are all either twisted or not twisted - for example, as with Bardem's hero, forty-year-old unemployed girls should not quarrel. The topic is important, the search for oneself is important, the departure from material tasks is important (" and sooner or later everyone who is with us should be lucky to find themselves" (c) 5pluch), but for the author stamps and spectatorship are more important. I don't approve of this. But I have a suspicion that this material is bad, and the film team did their best, because I really liked the cast. Perhaps it was much more banal in the text than dir was able to smooth out.
