A good, kind movie. There was a desire to read a book one day.

I was reading the book Fried green Tomatoes in a cafe at a Stopover, not knowing that a movie was made based on it. I finally finished reading and got to watch the movie. How nice it was to see Kathy Bates as Evelyn! Gorgeous!

An interesting story, I want to read a book sometime, didn't this old lady understand a little bit and is Idgie?

@Nataffka: this is exactly what Idji is, there are many indications of this. In the book, the old lady says her name is Virginia, which is short for Nini and Idji.

@remember-di: although reading the book, I begin to doubt this, because the book contains more details about the old lady.

It's not just because I've read the book, but I'm still in love with the atmosphere, the cast, and everything in general.

I don't want to spoil it, but the plot of the film and the book are slightly different and some moments in the film are gliding. Even if you don't rely on the book, it turned out to be a good movie. I recommend the book.

I've been putting off watching it for a long time and for nothing. The dynamic development of events, unexpected turns and at the same time calmness and tranquility, all this is here and perfectly interacts with each other. The story of a true lifelong friendship. But the film cannot be called easy, as it touches on a lot of controversial moral and ethical norms. I don't know if I would like to review it, but this movie definitely stays in my memory for a long time)

I just finished reading a book yesterday, watched a movie today and was very disappointed. In the book, you get attached to the characters, learn many stories from different angles. Almost everyone in the Station had a soul and a meaning. It's all inside out.
A movie in the background, just for once...
but I highly recommend the book.

It's an amazing movie! I've wanted to watch it for a long time, the movie touched me. The life story of Ruth and Idgie is at the very heart. The relationship between blacks and whites, that's how society should be, there should be no racial hatred, you need to live like Idgie and Rufe.
The film is instructive and interesting, there is something to think about! The cast is great!

The friendship between Ninny and Evelyn has begun.

I haven't read the book, but I liked the movie. Despite the fact that the film touches on highly social topics such as racism, domestic violence, etc., bright, positive feelings remain after watching. It's a very touching, soulful film.
P.S. The beautiful Kathy Bates graced this amazing picture with her acting.

It's a very soulful and touching film that leaves a warm aftertaste. A story about friendship, support and fortitude, conveyed with humor and sincerity. An excellent film adaptation of Fanny Flegg's book — the characters come to life on the screen, and the atmosphere of a small town and a cozy cafe is addictive from the very first minutes. It looks in one go and makes you think about simple but important things in life.
And yes, there's a big difference with a book, but this is the option when the book is cool and the movie is great and you don't think about discrepancies.
