The third season of Vikings: Valhalla will be the show's final season
Netflix has shut down the historical action movie "Vikings: Valhalla" — the upcoming third season of the "Vikings" spin-off will be the last for the project.
"I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today and we have done just that", — shared show creator Jeb Stuart. — "Of course with real historical figures, there are always more aspects of their lives that could be explored, but it made sense story-wise for our Leif, Freydis and Harald's voyages to end with our third season. And we really cannot wait for the fans to see the conclusion of this chapter of history."
The project is set 100 years after the events of the original show. In the story, the Vikings, seeking revenge for the destruction of their people and to gain glory, want to take over England. The main characters of the show are the ambitious ruler Harald Sigurdsson, the legendary navigator Leif Eriksson and his sister Freydis Eriksdotter.
The series finale will air next year, but the exact premiere date is still unknown.
