The screen adaptation of Liu Cixin's novels will be released on March 21.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for "3 Body Problem", an adaptation of the science fiction bestseller "Remembrance of Earth's Past" by Chinese writer Liu Cixin. All eight episodes of the show will premiere on March 21.

"3 Body Problem" is the story of humanity's first contact with an alien civilization. The creators of the series are David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, showrunners of "Game of Thrones", as well as Alexander Woo, who worked on "The Terror".

In the project's plot, astrophysicist scientist Ye Wenjie is sent to a secret base in a remote area of China. Fateful decision, which she makes there in the 1960s, is reflected in space and time to the present day and reaches a group of scientists who will have to cope with the greatest threat in the history of mankind.

Well, from the trailer, I see Ser Davos and Samuel Tarly on Game of Thrones.
I literally finished reading the Three-Body Problem the day before yesterday. Moved on to the Dark Forest. Is this a film adaptation of the entire trilogy "Memory of the Earth's Past"? Then I'll refrain from watching, I'll finish reading everything first, otherwise it will turn out to be a mess in my head. But I will comment on the film adaptation more strictly than if it were a series based on books.

@shudenis: well, in short, I opened the description of the video on youtube, and there:
Based on the acclaimed, international bestselling book trilogy, The Three-Body Problem.
For me, "is based on the ≠ film adaptation", so for now I will expect a little bit of a twist on the motives.

@andreyck: Game of Thrones is only known to me in serial form, I have not read books. And there were no complaints about compliance. And here with "three bodies " I want to ask the right attitude to the series, because I see how people break up along the tree under series that are based on some books and are not direct adaptations of them.

@andreyck: let's put it in my own words: the transfer of the composition of the book to the TV screen with the preservation of the plot, the images of the characters, their characters and actions, as well as the events and circumstances in which the book is described. At the same time, some events may be shortened or omitted altogether in order to fit into the timekeeping. But not changing or retelling any of the above.

@Redopera: you just rush "based on", as if this is not a priori a film adaptation, although all projects that fit your criteria still have this "based on"

The Chinese version of the film adaptation is wonderful! https://en.myshows.me/view/81629 / I definitely recommend it. Very atmospheric and detailed (30 episodes). There are doubts that 8 episodes will fit better

@andreyck: Yes, they tried to convey information to silly viewers as easily as possible, but I understood that he called it a deepfake, meaning that the universe cannot flicker, it's a fake and someone is behind it... Well, it's like an attempt to inject mystery, they say, who could pull this off?😏

Well, what can I say - the Netflix version looks clearly richer than the Chinese one, but on the other hand, the Chinese shot 30 episodes, and you can even say that 75% verbatim... and there are only 8 and who knows - is this the whole book or will there be a sequel in the second season?

@Ta_nusha: I have only a single experience like this, first there was a TV series "Space", and then books. So far, the second book and everything is on a sufficient level, but now you can't get rid of the actors who played the characters in the series. I automatically read and a ready-made image appears in my head. But luck is not always like that. However, if you can easily separate what you have seen and perceive the book as "other" information, then this is definitely cool.

@Redopera: I watch so many TV shows that I forget the storyline very quickly (oh, this short-term memory). And I don't read much now, which I really regret. Therefore, watching the series often tells me what to read, which I am very happy about.

A very entertaining video, with, however, a somewhat predictable phrase at the end of They are coming. But still, as a video, it looks epic and powerful.
The music is great. If someone can tell me the name of the track, I would appreciate it)

I've been wanting to read the book for a long time (it's been in the trash for a couple of years) and it seems it's time to read it. I really liked the idea at the time. I hope that there won't be too much crap in the series, or it won't be too conspicuous. Well, you know, this tolerant agenda, where gays/blacks/transgender people and others fill up most of the time with their problems, and the rest just passes by.((( The trailer, by the way, is promising!

God, I finally waited for the film adaptation of my favorite Chinese saifai. it is clear that the book is better than any netflix, but judging by the teaser, the attempt is very bold and tasty. I'm ready to take a look even in the original, without waiting for subs or voice acting. Congratulations to all who were also waiting!!!

Netflix will take off some kind of video again, imho. The book is good, a lot of topics were touched upon, especially Chinese history (not the most pleasant part of it). Here, I think half of them will be cut out, the heroes will be made lesbian-nigero-trans, the action will not take place in China, because China is evil for the current United States. In short, the gravy will be removed, and the soy dolls will be devoured and they will ask for more. Don't forget to hush up my comment.

@id32220241: Well, it's one thing to understand from the trailer, but here you're just guessing, not much is clear from the trailer, so we'll only find out after the fact, and in general the trailer looks fresh, the actors are good, the screenwriters can shoot from books (I emphasize - from books), in general, the prerequisites that it will be "again there is no such thing as "no, you can write this under every post with a Netflix movie without even watching it, but this is not reasonable

It's funny about China, then the point of the United States is to shoot a series if everyone in it is Chinese, the action is in China. Russian Russian actors. Do you know there is a theater, a kind of cinema parent, when they play a Russian play in China, does it make sense to invite Russian actors? This is for a Chinese audience, not for a Russian one. So why shoot a series in China if the series is American for an American audience.

If you so want a canonical TV series, there is a Chinese one of the same name in 2022, well, I just wonder how long you will have enough to watch it, because the Chinese are not capable of shooting TV series and as actors they have little proven themselves anywhere (they are not talking about Hong Kong or Taiwan)
