Medical drama "The Good Doctor" will end after its seventh season

The final installment of the show is set to premiere on February 20.

ABC channel closes the series "The Good Doctor": the upcoming seventh season will be the last for the medical drama. The premiere of the final part, which will consist of ten episodes, will take place on February 20.

"Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life. I will always be grateful to David, Liz, and Erin (the showrunners of the project — note) as well as the hugely talented — and lovely — cast, writers, and crew who made this show possible. Caring deeply is what got us here", — commented Freddie Highmore, the lead actor and one of the producers of the series, on the closing.

He played Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young doctor with autism spectrum disorder and Savant syndrome. It is not easy for him to communicate with colleagues and patients, but his professionalism, intuition and excellent memory gradually overcome the skepticism of others.

Throughout all six seasons, "The Good Doctor" has consistently ranked high in ABC ratings. On average, each episode of the project was watched on TV about 6.24 million viewers.

They didn't want to revive Melendez. The end-to-end plot has reached a dead end (to the child). So the ratings have dropped almost three times. But, of course, it's better this way than when the show completely slides into self-replays, etc.

It's very sad, but again - it's good that it's known in advance and the showrunners can:
1) give us a happy ending without cliffhangers
2) finally get involved with a good lawyer!!! Otherwise, they showed an excellent seed and silence again.
