The project is based on three novels by Norwegian writer Anne B. Ragde: "Berlin Poplars", "Hermit Crabs", and "Pastures Green". The series has only one season, but it managed to fall in love with the audience: the final sixth episode was watched by 975 thousand viewers, setting a record among drama series in Norway.

Also, all three seasons of the project won Best Comedy Series at the Seriekritikerprisen Film Critics Awards.

In 2022, more.tv released a Russian remake of the series. The main roles in "Home Field" were performed by Svetlana Ustinova and Ivan Yankovsky.
