Amanda Seyfried ("The Dropout") will star in the upcoming series "Long Bright River", an adaptation of Liz Moore's best-selling novel "Long Bright River". The project will be released on the streaming service Peacock.

Seyfried will play a policewoman Mickey, who works in a badly affected by the opioid crisis in the Philadelphia neighborhood. The problem has affected Mickey herself: her sister also suffers from drug addiction. Things take a turn for the worse when a series of murders occur in the neighborhood, and Mickey realizes that her personal history may be connected to the case.

The showrunner of the project is Nikki Toscano, who previously worked on the series "The Offer" and "Hunters". She will also write the script of the show along with Liz Moore. The project's release date has not yet been revealed.
