Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway may play the lead roles in the second season of "BEEF"
The publication Deadline reports that the TV series "BEEF" will return with a second season, which will tell the story of new characters. Neither Netflix, A24, nor creator Lee Sung Jin have officially announced the renewal, but if Deadline's sources are to be believed, the script for the second season is already ready, and filming for the sequel will begin in late summer or early fall.
It is reported that the new series will tell the story of two feuding couples. One of them may be played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, and the second — Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny. Contracts have not yet been signed with either of them.
The lead roles in the first season of "BEEF" were played by Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. They played Amy and Danny, two strangers who get into an accident and almost damage each other's cars. As a result of this collision, a feud develops between them. In an attempt to get revenge, they sabotage each other's careers, damage property and even try to destroy their relationship.
The first season of the project was released last April and was raved about by critics, winning eight Emmy Awards, including Best Mini-Series or Anthology.
