Netflix unveiled the trailer for the series "Ronia, the Robber's Daughter" based on the story by Astrid Lindgren
Netflix has published a trailer of the Swedish series "Ronia, the Robber's Daughter" — an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Astrid Lindgren, known for her books about Karlsson-on-the-Roof and Pippi Longstocking.
In the center of the plot of the show will be a girl named Ronia — the daughter of the attacker of the band of robbers Mattias and his wife Lovis. They live in a medieval castle surrounded by a magical forest full of strange and mysterious creatures.
One day Ronia meets a boy named Birk from a rival gang. Despite their parents' enmity, the children become friends. So when a cruel bailiff arrives, intent on ridding the neighborhood of bandits once and for all, Ronia and Birk decide to run away into the woods together.
The adaptation of Lindgren's story was done by Hans Rosenfeldt (creator of the TV series "Bron / Broen"), and the project was directed by Lisa James Larsson ("Fate: The Winx Saga"). The series has been split into two parts: the first six episodes will be released on March 8, and the remaining six episodes will air later in 2024.
