The new season of "Doctor Who" will premiere on May 11

The date was announced in a fresh teaser for the series.

A teaser for the upcoming season of the series has appeared on the "Doctor Who" Youtube channel, announcing the date of the project's return: it will take place on May 11.

The main role in the new season is played by Ncuti Gatwa from "Sex Education", he plays the Fifteenth Doctor, and the role of his companion Ruby went to Millie Gibson. Together they will once again go on adventures through time and space, visit Regency England and the war-torn country of the future, as well as meet new incredible friends and dangerous enemies.

For Millie Gibson this season will be the last: the actress will not return in the next series. In the continuation she will be replaced by Varada Sethu, known for the series "Andor". Shooting of the new series has already started.

The upcoming season will be the first in a new reboot of the franchise, which is being helmed by showrunner Russell T. Davies.

"At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together", — he said in a statement. — "Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second!"

We'll learn new details about the upcoming season as early as March 22, when the BBC releases another trailer for the sequel.

But seriously, it is impossible to properly reveal the assistant in season 1. Apparently, Russell will return to the idea that companions are just a background not needed next to the doctor, who just agree with the doctor all the time. The time when Clara was the second main character, and not the background, we probably won't get any more. That's why I loved Moffat.

Clara was rather a separate left hand. And Chibnell's, yes, it wasn't like a glove, they were more like pimples on his hand. Everyone decides for himself whether it's good or bad, someone wants to see companions only as companions, so that they don't bite off more than necessary from the importance of the doctor. I don't agree with that. The two current main characters are not like those who will be drawn into Russell's psychological games.
