The creator of "New Amsterdam" is working on a continuation of the series
David Schulner, the creator of the medical drama "New Amsterdam", is working on a sequel to the project. The series with the working title "New Amsterdam: Tomorrow" will tell about Luna Goodwin — the daughter of Max Goodwin.
The action of the potential sequel will develop 30 years after the finale of the original. In the story, Luna will follow in her father's footsteps and become the head doctor of the New Amsterdam Hospital. The series is expected to explore the role of artificial intelligence in medicine, but no details have been announced yet — the project is in the early stages of development.
In 2022, NBC abruptly shut down "New Amsterdam" after five seasons on the air. The series was about Max Goodwin, the chief physician of New Amsterdam, one of the oldest public hospitals in the United States. Once upon a time, the hospital was one of the best in the country, but in recent years has become mired in bureaucracy. Dr. Goodwin dreams of fixing that, but the staff at New Amsterdam don't have much faith in their boss: they've heard those promises of improvements many times before, but no one has ever followed through on them.

But here's the sequel.. and even after 30 years . Doubtful, but okay, as they say.
We'll see. I don't think there have been any TV series about medicine of the future yet. But it seems to me that they will shoot as usual, without taking into account any progress. I don't know why it seems that way.
