Filming on the "Freaky Friday" sequel will begin this summer
Disney has officially put the sequel to the comedy "Freaky Friday" into production, and announced that Nisha Ganatra, who worked on "Welcome to Chippendales" and "You Me Her", will be taking the director's chair.
Filming on the sequel will begin in Los Angeles this summer, so the movie will likely be released in the second half of 2025. Whether Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan will return to their roles is still unknown, but the actresses are reportedly in talks with Disney. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis recently posted a joint photo with Lindsay Lohan, so social media speculates that a contract will likely be signed.
The original movie came out in 2003 and was about a mother, Tess Coleman, and her teenage daughter, Anna, who unexpectedly switch bodies after an argument in a Chinese restaurant. The plot of the sequel has not yet been revealed.
