What a sad fate, full of tossing and struggling with oneself, for such a genius of painting. I really liked this episode.

"Caravaggio's self-portrait in the form of Bacchus, the god of winemaking. Bacchus is not only the god of drunkards, but also the god of youth and beauty. An inspirer of poets, singers and artists. (...)
Instead of youth and beauty, he portrays a man stricken with a deadly disease. Her skin and lips were gray. His eyes were red from lack of sleep. A malicious smile curled his lips.
He took away the divine from him, pushing out his human essence. It's a reveler with a hangover in the morning. He offers rotten grapes and holds them out to us with dirty fingernails. No, thanks."

The first episode, when I really liked the master's work from the bottom of my heart. Bernini is great! The abduction of Proserpine, the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa, Apollo and Daphne, everything is fine.
When you look at these works, it's hard to even imagine that it can be made by human hands, sculpted from clay or plaster, let alone carved from marble. Unbelievable.
I didn't really like the bust of Constanza, the details are great, but she's not that beautiful, and the sculpture isn't that sensual.
Bernini's fate is also interesting. It's like "the exact opposite of Caravaggio," and the fates have so much in common) Bormini liked it too.

It's a pity that, in fact, the series is not so much about Picasso's work as about one painting...Although the best, but still one.

To be honest, I have very mixed feelings after watching it. It seems that the atmosphere is at its height, it insanely delays the speaker's speech, but... Basically, most of the time the narrative revolved around one of his works. Yes, of course this is a masterpiece, and I'm not even going to argue here, but:
1. From the series called "David" I expected to see a more complete picture of the artist himself.;
2. This is not his only great job.
Plus, I was disappointed by the fact that two words were said about the time when he worked with Napoleon, and he was his main portraitist. I would like to hear more information on this topic.
