In short, the viewing experience was very pleasant. And the actors are wonderful! I love Michael Gambon, and he's so good here, so accurate as Squire Hamley. Oh, and what wonderful Browning sisters (especially Miss Phoebe), and Mrs. Gibson with her big round eyes and such immediate reactions ...
Of course, the book is more fascinating in its slowness and a lot of different little things, but the film adaptation also pleased.
