The plot is banal, almost all the action takes place in 2-3 rooms, the scenery is simple, if not budget-friendly, and the acting is far from a masterpiece. However, the mise-en-scene and the text take everything to an extremely high level. I never expected to get so much pleasure from an English sitcom from almost 40 years ago.
The episodes are mostly short, 22-25 minutes long, but very full of simple, kind humor. Antics and banter, jokes and gags, wordplay, witty jokes and lines delight the viewer several times a minute. And yet, an extremely successful song in the screensaver.
