Overview
Kelsey Grammer returns for season two as Chicago Mayor Tom Kane, the role in which he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor. This season, Kane ferociously beats back the physical symptoms of his illness with high doses of medication. But this comes at a cost -- experiencing heightened psychological manifestations of the disease. Without his longtime advisors Stone and Kitty, Kane is also forced to reconfigure his inner circle. Surrounded by strangers and without much time left, he acts quickly to protect and repair his legacy by cutting out the cancers within the political machine. But as corrupt heads roll and his list of enemies grows, Kane's virtuous actions begin to erode the very foundation of power he's worked a lifetime to build. In order to maintain it, Kane must govern as he always has - ruthlessly.

One minute Kane is worried about being betrayed by everyone, especially his wife, who helped build it all, and the next he's betraying the only loyal and completely honest person, the only one who loves him - his daughter.
Except that Zajak was a charismatic, promising politician who knew how to get along with the electorate and which hands to shake, and a minute later he was on his knees, and his wife was doing everything for him.
Except Kitty was a heartless, loyal robot, but here we see a woman in love and vulnerable, left completely unprotected.
But the most amazing thing about this series is that the prerequisites for these metamorphoses have always been there, and logically follow from the image that developed earlier in the plot.
What a good show, huh
The mayor-Satan is still in office, he has loyal assistants — Kitty, Ian (this one is on his mind, of course, but still), Meredith (who so much he does, but he's also waiting for it to be removed).
Reporter Sam's story ended sadly, unfortunately, the mayor outplayed him.
Lusty Ben will become the governor and another pawn in the hands of the mayor, because it was he (the mayor) who took Walsh out of the game (she even bought up the votes of Cook County!). And even his wife will obviously come back to him.
The relocation project was a complete hoax and did not turn out well for people; someone will still profit from it, and most likely not Ross. So Mona's family, of course, would rather move than stay in Chicago.
I feel very sorry for Darius, for him, meeting Emma turned out to be fatal, because of her he became a drug addict. As for Emma, I have conflicting feelings: at the beginning of the series, she aroused interest and sympathy, and at the end — only rejection and misunderstanding. To be honest, I don't see any future for her.
I was recommended to watch this series before House of Cards, now I have a question: is it worth watching it if I'm tired of watching corruption, contract killings, blackmail and promiscuity? But on the other hand, I liked in this series how a politician found ways out of some seemingly hopeless situation and turned everything around "in an instant."
