Overview

Hosted by renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, Cosmos will explore how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time. It will bring to life never-before-told stories of the heroic quest for knowledge and transport viewers to new worlds and across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale. Cosmos will invent new modes of scientific storytelling to reveal the grandeur of the universe and re-invent celebrated elements of the legendary original series, including the Cosmic Calendar and the Ship of the Imagination. The most profound scientific concepts will be presented with stunning clarity, uniting skepticism and wonder, and weaving rigorous science with the emotional and spiritual into a transcendent experience.

@Mr_Jonas: The entire history of science consists of building hypotheses and subsequent proofs/refutations of these hypotheses. Now the hypotheses about the origin of life are as follows. Or do you suggest that the entire scientific community say together, "Well, we'll never determine what happened there millions and billions of years ago anyway, so we can just stop there and not ask any more questions or hypotheses, we'll never know anyway."
that you should always ask new questions and support the questioners in every possible way, even if it seems impossible to find answers to them?
With this comment, you are putting yourself in the position of the modern equivalent of those guys who laughed at Faraday, saying that without mathematical calculations, his hypothesis of the existence of electromagnetic waves is utter stupidity and nothing but guesses. Or the Galilean inquisitors, who really wanted to believe that their native pebble was the center of God's universe.
Everything is impossible until someone does it. And the scientific community, believe me, sooner or later will get to the truth about millions of years in the past, and billions. We've already got to the bottom of a lot of things in those periods, as you know very well from this series.
Be on the right side of the story, please.

I'm sitting here thinking: how did we manage to build such a civilization from the cavemen that a few seconds after sending this message, a person will be able to read this message on the other side of the world? In general, the series gives an impetus to thinking about life in general and how we came to this in the first place.

I was skeptical about the first episode. I knew everything he told me from the school curriculum, except that it was beautifully shown here. But then he started to surprise me. I would like to pay tribute to the presenter, he is really very emotional about the topic of astrophysics and infects you with the energy of curiosity and admiration. I really liked the linearity of the series, everything is consistent - how the universe was born, how scientific discoveries of mankind took place, based on what evidence they came to their facts. It always bothered me how scientists rush to their exact conclusions - it happened 75 million years ago, that planet consists of those substances. You can't go back in time or touch this planet, how can you say that? Science. This series explains its every statement, and that's the most magnificent thing about it. Moreover, they do not hesitate to dig very deep, a couple of times I even lost the thread and weakened in attentiveness, because it was really difficult. Very often, the transitions from topic to topic occurred very abruptly, and I wanted to pull him back: "Wait! Come back here! Tell me a little more about it." But he has nothing to tell about it. Even though we flew on the ship of imagination, it was limited by the achievements of today's science. And at the very end of the series, he, like me, was emotionally worried about something that we still don't know.

@Лейт: Rather, this film is designed to be watched not only by "tp and morons", but also by children.
The presenter is wonderful: a pleasant voice and good diction.
