A frankly comedic, police-adventure series, a bit childish, with an abundance of ridiculous criminal schemes, absurdities and cliches. When viewing, you should turn off, if not the whole brain, then at least a critical look, and preferably along with logic. I can't seriously evaluate the plot, there are too many inconsistencies, inconsistencies and all sorts of "grand pianos in the bushes". But not boring. The cases are quite diverse.
It's very simple to set and shoot. They also play without tricks. The technique with dissimilar partners worked perfectly. Wonderful, funny dialogues, with an abundance of jokes, witty remarks and good lively humor, funny mutual pickings and juicy, clever and imaginative expressions of their boss. Cultural and linguistic differences are successfully played out, especially in the early episodes. Plus pubs, clubs, interesting views of London, all kinds of English realities, fashion, types and details of the time. The picture is not particularly bright, but it is "real", as are the special effects (Not at all amazing, but real tricks, without any green screens. Honest stuntmen, sometimes not very dexterous, safety ropes, noticeable in some scenes). And everything is extremely decent, there is no nudity, even there is almost no blood.
Despite infrequent, but completely, in my opinion, unnecessary attempts to introduce drama and show the feelings of the characters, the series left a pleasant impression of a light, funny and entertaining detective story, not devoid of some nonsense, but also some charm. I watched with interest. The stories may be very artificial, but the interiors and costumes are completely natural)) And the humor is not bad.
The language is quite decent, everyone, including criminals, speaks quite correctly, although often terribly unintelligible, and sometimes with an abundance of slang, but without any "fakes". At the same time, there is even mind-blowing rhyming Cockney slang. The vocabulary is generally not the simplest, it's good that subtitles were found.
