Even after almost 20 years since the episode, some forums and VK are still discussing this series and Tess' decision.
On the one hand, I understand the scriptwriters. They need to develop a story for everyone (and especially for Tess) and not twist everything around the child. But on the other hand, for the life of me, I don't understand this decision to give away the only thing you have left of your sister under the pretext of 'Let her grow up in the family.' A very controversial point, of course. Especially considering that Charlotte is hardly remembered anymore.

The first time I watched this series many years ago, when I was still a teenager, but I still remember the shock of this turn, I could not believe that Claire was no more, literally sat in front of the TV screen at that time and sobbed uncontrollably. Now, after so many years, I have decided to review the series again. Has something changed? NO, I'm still sitting and wiping my tears in front of the screen. Favorite character and favorite first 3 seasons...

The eighth season is physically painful to watch. There was no one left of the original cast at all, Alex was taken out absolutely absurdly and the whole theme of the series went somewhere sideways. And from the series about sisters, ranches, difficulties and Australia, there were one and a half lame topics.
