The British are very good at adapting the works of English authors based on English material. One might have expected a cool detective series with a wonderful main character, Lord Peter Wimsey, carefully invented by Dorothy Lee Sayers, a bright, energetic and likeable character with a huge number of advantages and various remarkable qualities.

However, the guest star, Ian Carmichael, although he tried to look lively, could not portray the 37-year-old in any way, and in general he did not look much like the original. Unfortunately, this could have blurred the impressions of the series from some viewers familiar with the original source, who were attracted by the book character.

It was shot, in modern times, very slowly and simply, the picture is pale and flat, they play diligently and academically. The series is clearly outdated and, in my opinion, despite the excellent plot and good detective intrigue, only complete fans will want to review it. However, you can watch it once, at least for the sake of the style, surroundings and language of that time.

Language. I didn't notice any slang or heavy regional accent. They speak very well, correctly and not too fast, but sometimes it's a bit difficult. It's clearer with subtitles.

I'm happy with the season. Magnificent sets and costumes, a twisted plot in the spirit of Agatha Christie. No subpoena. Gallant gentlemen, lovely ladies. Set in British high society in 1928.

The actor playing a policeman who finds a traffic jam in the yard of a hysterical George is very similar to the actor playing the gay priest Leonard in "Granchester" (Al Weaver). Maybe some relatives.

Who killed whom for what reason is clear. But I still didn't understand how the inheritance was divided.
