In my opinion, this is the best episode of Memories. Both Satoshi Kon (screenwriter) and Koji Morimoto (director) did their best here, their style, known to us from later works, was revealed most clearly in "Magnetic Rose". And what kind of music is here! ("Madama Butterfly" and "Tosca" by Giacomo Puccini; if anyone is interested, the anime mainly used "Un bel di vedremo" (second act, part one) and "Con onor muore" (second act, second part, but can also be specified as the third act, I don't know much about opera, so I don't know for sure) from "Madama Butterfly") Yoko Kanno created a true masterpiece using Puccini's creations (the OST descriptions claim to be performed by Maria Callas) - in fact, it is the music that conveys the main emotional load of the episode. Unfortunately, Katsuhiro Otomo's manga did not make the same impression, but despite this, I recommend those who are interested in this anime to read it. An interesting fact is that the name of the anime in the original translates as "In her feelings", or "In her memories".
Dystopias, where everyone obeys the authorities and no one has their own opinion, since military affairs are imposed on children from a young age, but it is unclear against whom and why, most likely for management...
@yarkovalexander: basically, this whole bio-weapon branch is purely on the stem. Like la, you're walking like that, people are dying from you, don't you think that's weird?? but that's what I liked. If it were any other way, the joke of this story would have gone away.
