Party Down: Season 1

For those who are thinking about watching or not:
I came across this comedy quite by accident. I was extremely pleased to see Adam Scott on the list of actors, who became very fond of Parks and Recreation. Buying into the fact that there are only 2 seasons, I clicked play…

The first ten episodes were difficult. What the viewer will not find here: unnecessary nudity, and an excessive amount of matting (we all know which word Americans have in priority), and stupid toilet humor, and the mention of genitals is completely off topic. I understand perfectly well that this is an important component of American humor, but this is clearly overkill. There is still one plus this season - the mega—positive character Jane Lynch, who, unfortunately, was replaced by Megan Mullally in the second season.

The second season itself is also not devoid of everything written above, BUT it is much, much more successful. It feels like the writers have reviewed the first season a couple of times, highlighted obvious flaws and minimized them. If it weren't for the storyline, which, however, can be traced in the series, I would prefer not to watch the first season at all. There is much less senseless nudity and swearing here, but this is well compensated for by meaningful dialogues, vulgar jokes and rather funny situations — we are still talking about comedy.

I won't say anything specific about the characters, because, in principle, what is given in the annotation is enough — these are losers who continue to dream.

Despite the obvious shortcomings, the assessment is positive — there were really funny moments, a couple of worthwhile dialogues and quite interesting endings of the series.

Jennifer Coolidge plays the same character in all the movies/TV series almost all the time, but she's still very funny :)
