The motivation of the antagonists, or rather, even their leader, looks particularly interesting. It's a very interesting way of looking at things. And you even believe it, although in most cases with fighters from the 90s such explanations look far-fetched.
It is clear that it was almost impossible to create a thriller in such a superficial and kind setting, but they did their best here — there are chases, and stubborn tricks, and a strange story with raising the bridge once every thirty years.
It turned out to be messy, but interesting. I liked.
And so even about professional pride and self-determination, the big arch was able to fit seamlessly between all the strange adventures of traffic police officers.
Their schoolgirl friend's growing up was also very cool. It was beautifully shown how, from yesterday's cadet, she slowly becomes an experienced employee of the department, going through all the usual stages, including disappointment in her mentors.
It's still a cool movie. It perfectly conveys the spirit of fun work at the beginning of a career path.
The simple and uncomplicated series about the everyday life of the Bokuto police station in Tokyo somehow calmly and without excessive affectation reveals topics that are either exaggerated or ignored in other places. A lot of time is devoted to minor everyday issues, such as, for example, how bad a person minor violations make you, or whether it is worth tying your self-esteem to external achievements and participating in social competitions, or whether it is good to steal treats from colleagues from the common kitchen.
The comicality of situations is also given by the presence of completely driven and beaten characters.: One day, an urban lunatic who considers himself a superhero will appear, the next, a shopaholic grandmother on her moped. At the same time, the fantastic characters and abilities of the main characters do not greatly interfere with the perception of the series as quite realistic. Well, there is a very strong and very smart police force, but this hyperbole is more an artistic device than a plot engine.
The inhabitants of the site are also well-written for this kind of series. The beautiful girls (especially Aoi), the shy motorcycle patrolman Nakajima, the boss, who has not been given a name for 51 episodes — they are all recognizable and behave wholeheartedly when they are given timing.
There's not much action, but it's there, and that's good. The quality of the drawing is low, sometimes very high — you need to get used to it.
Of the many series I've come across over the past few years, this one is extremely enjoyable to watch and leaves a pleasant impression and a pleasant aftertaste. The enemies are not scary, the problems are funny, the cops are lazy — a great choice to relax and cheer yourself up.
