Overview
The Fear Index centers on Dr Alex Hoffman, a computer scientist and genius who is ready to make a killing. Alongside his Hedge Fund business partner and best friend, Hugo, he's launching VIXAL-4 to investors — an AI-driven system that exploits fear in the financial markets and operates at lightning speed to make big returns. The promise is billions, the rich are ready to get richer… but this is not the day Alex and Hugo had planned on. What follows is a fast-paced journey through the worst 24 hours of Alex's life — cutting across reality, memory and paranoid fantasy, forcing him to question everything he sees with his own eyes.

After the comments, it became interesting to read the book.
- They moved some pieces almost from the end of the book forward. And that's good. The scene with the therapist is very relevant. While I was reading the book, I couldn't figure out why they came to her only at the last moment.
- Gradually increasing atmosphere. Just like Alex, who is slowly losing his mind.
- Josh's game. In some moments, I just enjoyed it. And I rewound/rewatched individual segments a couple of times.
- A moment with an exhibition and a child. It was interesting how they would transfer all this to the screen. The result is quite. I wanted to (personally) of course, it would be a little different to see it, but that's what it is ;)
Minus:
- The actress playing Gaby is just no good. In the book, the scene after the exhibition (and the moments on it) felt right on the edge. Even on the pages, reading, you understood that they had problems that they didn't talk about and she was on edge. And here. If it hadn't been for the slap, it would have looked like a normal conversation.
- Of course (over the years) I don't remember very well, but in the book, it wasn't like Miriam demanded Alex's resignation. What the hell was she supposed to convey these words and actions? Or did they go on the agenda here, and without a black woman pointing out the truth to white men, everything would have collapsed?
