People drink and get drunk in order not to think and not to see reality around them. That bribes are being taken everywhere. A masterpiece character, that granny, that Catherine, that her Kriska, that Irishka, Gromova's mom, that Gromova herself with her really piercing gaze, that lonely drinking cop Kolya, that the parole inspector, played by Yana Sexte (I haven't seen her since the very "Thaw") - her arc especially hooked, because it's beautifully played. The soundtrack, for me, fit perfectly - both in terms of dynamics, meanings, and folk associations with these songs. In terms of dynamics, it really resembles "Olga", in some places stronger and deeper than even the same purely sometimes lively "Olga". There was enough drama and psychology.
