I didn't like it. The change of roles here looks completely unnatural, in my opinion. Mulder has also encountered much more unusual phenomena, including those related to religion, so the way he rejects it to the last looks out of place. And Scully, what happened to "what I find fantastic is any notion that there are answers beyond the realm of science"?
and as always, the case seems to be solved, but the mystery is not solved. Who did the venerable rich gentleman become, the main thing is how? Are trips to Israel really that dangerous? Why would he want to kill the prophet? Who was he bothering? what should happen after his death? And is the boy really a prophet?
Oh my God! Why, it's Kevin Zegers who played "boy in a girl"!* about* He was awesome as a kid!!!* about* The series is a bomb in philosophical terms! I would put a thousand * if there was such an estimate here. Mulder believes in aliens, but he can't believe in God... and the same problem with Scully, but in reverse. It's a shame for him and for her...
@Mr_Kirpister: and in my opinion, everything is fine about Mulder. But Scully is strange, a skeptic about everything except faith. It doesn't seem logical.
@dark_matter88: then it just bombed from the series and I couldn't reason sensibly.))) Sorry.hd is in solidarity with you right now.x) And in general, who to believe in what is an individual matter.)) You can not believe in God, but believe in the supernatural, or you can deny the existence of any spirits, but believe in aliens.)))
@Mr_Kirpister: Well, yes :) There was still a good twist with Scully, she was revealed more as a character, despite the fact that it doesn't seem very logical. But it was interesting to watch her in the role of a believer, and not a skeptic, as usual.
@dark_matter88: In one of the previous episodes, Scully said about the cross that she herself was not a believer, and it was just a gift from her mother. Therefore, it is doubly strange to look at her turn to religion. Especially at the very end of the series.
And Mulder had encountered religious stuff before - a series about Satanic teachers, an evil twin spirit who was exiled by a religious rite, a Hannibal city (this was also a matter of faith). He believes in aliens. OK. But he also believes in all sorts of other things - like a couple of episodes ago, the connection between the former victim of a maniac and a girl, a new victim. If the guy in this episode just had his hands bleeding and was being chased for non-religious reasons, for some reason it seems to me that Mulder would believe in the possibility of such a thing, and Scully would be looking for a scientific explanation. So the series is doubly strange.
@mr_olimpia09: it's just that "boy in a girl" came to mind first.))) And in "King of the air" he is the same age as in this series, and it would be strange not to recognize him right away))
I am always surprised at such moments when Scully begins to believe in something unusual, and Mulder denies it. The series is interesting, there is a lot of subtext and Scully was shown on the other side. In general, I liked it and was quite curious. However, after the series there were a lot of questions, including whether it is true that the boy is a prophet. PS Kevin is a very cute boy. We urgently need to see how he grew up :)
