I liked the series from the first episode. I just didn't quite understand how Franny got rich. Mom is from a good family, dad is not, and where does the money come from in the end?

An elegant and extravagant lover of luxury, men and adventure takes part in the investigation of violent crimes in Melbourne in 1925. Cars, an airplane, outfits, dancing and flirting - these toys are not enough for her. Solving murders turned out to be suitable fun: it is very exciting and easy to combine with previous entertainment. And at the same time tease the handsome detective.
The star and mainstay of the series is the main character. Beautiful, smart, with great taste, rich, independent, brave and dexterous, and even lucky enough to live in a time of unsurpassed style and fashion, is just every girl's dream. However, I suppose many boys do too))
A proper, fertile plot, interesting stories, entertaining characters and good casting, quite decent editing and rhythm.
And finally, an exceptionally cute and blissful video sequence. Even the occasional glimpse of the back streets of Port Melbourne does not look repulsive. And scenes from the life of high society reveal all the advantages and charm of the bright and elegant luxury of the 1920s. In general, it is pleasant to the eye, with fascinating adventures, intricate murders and a sweet love story, a cheerful detective tale.
Language. A decent audience and speaks appropriately, correctly and understandably. But I could not always understand, for example, the temporary assistants of the main character - two simple hard workers, without subtitles.

@porco: Frankie Drake is in all aspects a frankly bad carbon copy with Phryne. Starting from the plot, characters and atmosphere, and ending with visual, makeup, costumes. I was interested in the fashion of this time period and I was terribly burned by absolutely everything that appeared in the frame of "Frankie", whereas the costumes in "Phryne" are a delight to the eyes, everything fits the era quite accurately. In "Frankie" there was a complete disaster - hairstyles from the 30s, then modern, completely modern makeup, completely inadequate clothes and shoes for this period (and yes, they are also sometimes quite modern). One Google search could have solved this problem - literally typing in "real 20s fashion" - but no one there cared so much that even this was not done. "Phryne" was made with respect for the era and with love for the characters. Not perfect, but close to perfect and very diligent. This series is several heads above "Frankie" in every aspect - I guarantee you that.

Мне кажется, что даже без особых навыков и опыта можно было бы сделать что-то более достойное, выезжая только на любви к мало-мальской достоверности и энтузиазме. Возможно, я слишком строга к ним, но там с самой первой серии бросалось в глаза то, как всем наплевать на продакшн. Мол, "и так схавают", поэтому и не было никаких исследований даже на уровне поиска фоток в Гугле. А возможно это и вовсе было сознательное решение, что делает всё намного хуже. Ибо некоторые современные люди (особенно в этой индустрии) считают, что без осовремененного, отполированного и подогнанного под современные стандарты красоты и сексуальности вижуала люди не будут смотреть их работы. И это говорит куда больше об отношении создателей к зрителям, о том, какого они о них мнения, чем о самих зрителях. А с "Мёрдоком" да, пересечений много. "Фрэнки" пытается быть всем, чем угодно, кроме нормально сделанной "Фрэнки" - и "Мёрдоком", и "Фрайни"...

@porco: смотрел Фрэнки после Фишер и поначалу первая казалась слабее, и было даже впечатление местами, что взяли ту же музыку. А если учесть, что Фрэнки вышла позже...

Немного не верится, что в те годы в Австралии могла быть настолько эмансипированная раскрепощённая и прогрессивная женщина как Фрайни. Но всё таки это сериал, спишу на то что того требовал сюжет. Визуальная часть выше всяких похвал, любуюсь ГГ, её нарядами и образами. Новая помощница по хозяйству милаха, её боязнь электричества 🤦😂 (хотя люди боятся нового и неизведанного). Саша был хорош, удивило, что Фрайни таки переспала с ним, ведь по сути он наркоман. Ещё приметила детектива красавчика, думаю что-то может быть у них.
