When I sat down to watch the second season, the atmosphere of the first one lasted exactly two episodes, and then it was like watching another series. The plot goes so far towards Kiritsugi that I personally felt somehow sad - all the pretentious fights with phantasms and "chess" reversals quickly turned off and went into long monologues, yes, interesting in content, but some are not local at all. All this "past", all these memories would have looked more appropriate in Canaan, but here it looked like a foreign object (an anime cancer, by God). On the one hand, thanks to the break, they kept the picture and sound quality at the highest level, on the other, the atmosphere of the most gorgeous first season splashed, dropping a cherry, and leaving only a sediment at the bottom of the glass. It seems that the creators stupidly did not have enough time, the shoving of everything in a row begins: fights, tragedies, baldain, pathos. Since Zero is the FSN prequel, it kind of slides down in the qualitative component to its continuation, which I did not say very flatteringly above. But I still liked the end. He tied the two series together and put all the dots over the "I". Of course, there were many interesting and memorable moments in the second season at the level of the first, but overall, the second season disappointed me.

In general, the anime is an excellent prequel to F/SN, no inconsistencies with the original story have been found. The characters are slightly different, but their motives and thoughts remain the same, the new characters also fit in perfectly, charismatic and memorable, which is only worth the local Lancer and Rider. The masters are also very interesting, Kiritsugu is a magician who fights by any means available to him, including firearms that would seem completely out of place in the entourage of history. It is interesting to observe the ideological diversity of Kiritsugu and Seiba, and it is also very cool to follow the brawls of the three kings.
You can see how Ufotable loves the universe of the universe, I hope to see more anime on this universe from this studio, fortunately there is more than enough material for this.

Great anime, zero is the first thing I watched from the fate franchise, I will definitely look at other parts.

Cool anime. Each character is qualitatively worked out, and their morality and motivation are clear. Cool cool. At first, I didn't understand why such an open sad ending was somehow sad...And then I found out that there is a whole franchise! I honestly didn't know. I will watch it) It's very powerful for me!)

Swinging for so long... As for me, the anime has a high rating only because of the ending. If it weren't for the last three or four episodes, I would say that the anime is "below average". I almost forgot... The ending is good, but initially there was no intrigue because of Fate / stay night, so the impressions of the ending are blurred.

I didn't quite understand the ending. So this is how Kiritsugu's wish was fulfilled?

@Taro: Kiritsugu's wish could not be fulfilled because he rejected the Holy Grail.

I'll probably get a bunch of dislikes, but the anime didn't suit me at all. And comments: why did you watch it then ? Yes, because I can't finish what I started.
I've watched a lot of different anime, decent and not so good, but this refers to the low quality.
The idea is not bad, but the plot itself suffers a lot. With such a cool animation, you need to try to do such uninteresting fights.
No interesting plot twists, a bunch of conversations filled with water.
In general, I am disappointed.

maybe the fact is that for me this is the first product from the Fate line, but how is it unclear ...
why was the Grail in Airisfil? And judging by my daughter's dream, does she also contain the Grail? So their family ALWAYS owns the Grail, then why fight?
Does the Grail grant a wish in exchange for, uh, animating itself into human form? It seems that these battles for the Grail take place every 25 years - has he never been revived in the entire history of battles and no one's wish has been fulfilled? Who won the last battle anyway? Is there any rating of the families that win most often? Or has no one ever won? Then maybe this is a pointless idea and there is no point in participating in this race at all?
It seems that priest had a conversation with Gelgamesh that in order for the Grail to work, it is necessary that all the spirits involved in the battle be sacrificed, but the Grail, even with Archer and Cyber alive, was ready to act.
What did the Grail throw up at all? Did he do this on purpose to annoy Kiritsugu and that's why he killed so many people? Or does this happen in the city every 25 years?
Why was Kiritsugu so happy that his adopted son now dreams of becoming a hero? Didn't his whole arc this season reveal the truth for him - it's pointless to be a hero - saving some you'll lose others and maybe the result won't be worth it.

I hope this is all explained in principle, at least in other products of the line.
