@MaximKalinov: and what are they missing? he's right, this series would have a budget like in AI and would be the best in its genre, let's be honest, AI has long slipped...
@bunteeq: "American Horror Story." There are a lot of links in Google for this abbreviation. But I'm too lazy to enter three letters into the search engine...
It's a little empty in places, but it takes the atmosphere, the ending came out as expected, a decent crypt is shown during the course of the series, in general, time was not spent in vain.
I didn't understand who these monsters were like skin ripper or that guy who was half a bush and burning. Just figments of Eddie's imagination?
About the series as a whole - I'll join everyone who spoke out, it's interesting, creepy, but a little short of the top five. The ending is good, the main character is too, it's a pity for him. I wasn't guilty of anything at all, and that's how it all turned out. :(
This teacher Booth was infuriating the whole way... She looks like a religious fanatic, in fact she was (and she also plays very poorly). Serves her right!!!
I still didn't understand what the seasons would be related to. Are there actors and some storylines in the AI at least, and in this case, a new season = a new series?
It's very easy to scare me, but this series doesn't scare me. Rather, it is a mystical detective story, if I may say so, and not the horrors claimed in the genre. Zero screamers, zero eerily creepy moments, but at the same time, there is no tension. In general, it is an exciting thing, it is unlikely, of course, that it can scare you into unconsciousness. It is more interesting what they will do in the second season and how else you can develop the idea of transferring the crypipast to the screens. We are waiting for you.
It will pull for one time, although the series is still ambiguous. A kind of broken-off "unborn". The last scene, where the hero turns off the TV, I really liked it, well. It's a pity for the mother, of course, but at least the granddaughter stayed. And it was nice to see Fiona Shaw. The story of Candle Bay itself is a bit gloomy, especially if you connect your imagination enough. I want to see what other things they want to transfer to the screen. But so far without much enthusiasm.
An ambiguous series. From the very beginning, the tie was good, then somehow smoothly went nowhere. What does a burning dude have to do with it? What's the weird scene with Mike turning off the TV? Who shot the cartoon?
In short, I'm not thrilled, although I expected a lot. But, nevertheless, this is a four out of five.
@veres_shell: I join you, we started for health, finished for peace. Why I didn't give up this burden in the middle of the season, I don't know myself, I probably expected something interesting in the finale. 2 stars, for an interesting start. I do not recommend this series to anyone as horror, it is rather a detective story, with elements of mysticism, smooth and calm, under which it is good to take a nap :)
@veres_shell: >What does a burning dude have to do with it? Unfortunately, I can't explain it. Either the symbolism, which even I did not understand, or the "burning dude" is needed to show how different the other dimension is from the real one, how strange and creepy it is. Actually, I'm leaning towards the second option.
gt;What's the weird scene with Mike turning off the TV? Eddie can no longer influence the children with the show, because Mike confronts his brother from the same dimension with his own powers. In the series, it was casually noted that Mike also has some superpowers, although not as developed as Eddie.
>Who shot the cartoon? There is no cartoon, it's all Eddie's superpowers. This is stated in direct text in the series.
(Oh, now it would be nine months later to respond to the comment.)
Well, what can I say, if you survive the first two episodes, then in principle it becomes interesting. In general, it's better to watch Stranger Things.
@Florence-Shepard: necroposting, but it's pretty weird to compare Stranger Things and Kendle Bay. Absolutely different things in terms of presentation, atmosphere, and history. You might as well suggest watching Goodnight, kids. Well, there's a TV show with dolls in both places.
The ending was interesting and ambiguous. I'll be honest, I was hoping for a better scenario, but at least this show stopped. To produce such a series from one cryptipast is great. But this is not something that should be advised to everyone: measured, in some places even too slow, but at the same time not devoid of its appeal. And I was very pleased that gg is a simple man who did not have the strength to win, but had the wit to lose with dignity. In general, you can watch it.
I'm just shocked, how and why did anyone consider this series to be a creep? For what in general?! There are "horrors" of a level somewhere between "Goosebumps" and "Are You Afraid of the dark". Well, at most, "Their bikes are blind."
I seriously don't understand why there are so many flattering reviews in the direction of the series (the first season, to be more precise) . That is, okay, less than half of the people in the comments would consider IT scary, but damn...most people jokingly compare this series to AHS... my God...that's even more horror in the AHS than in this one (although there's only the word "horror" in the title of the series)
I've heard on the Internet that one of the seasons should be good here, so I hope it will be the next season because this is just an infinitely boring season, and some of the actors are not so charismatic and expressive (((
I was looking at the background, I didn't understand anything. Why a cartoon? What kind of world is it and where is it? What kind of glitches does everyone have all the time? What is not a terrible monster of teeth? Why did it take so many years for it to start again?
I liked it. The thing, of course, is in a special mood, just like that after work, while you're cooking dinner, you won't look, but it's very good. The atmosphere is gorgeous, Fiona Shaw is smart, she empathized with her character all season, the ending is top. I suspect that there is at least a shovel of symbolism here, which is quite difficult to perceive. Apparently, if you really stick to the symbols, then you can generally appreciate the whole flavor of the season.
I expected to see a smarter series. And I got a very boring, illogical, near-childish series. The actors, in particular, play inexpressively, in places generally poorly. I didn't really understand why gg seemed to smile in serious situations. A mother who kills her only remaining son with her bare hands without shedding a tear is just a tower. According to the plot, it was possible to come up with a lot of interesting things with this crypto paste. And the secret conspiracy of the government, to zombify people from an early age, or it was possible to take a more difficult path, to go into realism. It's like this show was made by a pedophile maniac to lure children to an old factory, or it's sectarians sacrificing children. But no, we did a stupid psychedelic with the same 6-hour-long technique (I mean, how something creaky happens and everything disappears abruptly, as if letting us know that it was all in gg's head). And as I wrote at the very beginning, the series is outrageously stupid, the writers decided not to explain anything at all. Who created this series? Eddie? Okay, how? After all, at the very beginning of the series, we are shown how Eddie calls his brother to watch the program with him. Then maybe he created it and tried to get his brother hooked on it? Then how did he create it? What kind of powers does he have? If he knows how to manage people, and he wanted to deal with all his abusers, then why would he create this program? And the director's attempt at suspense (I'm talking about scenes where the characters are 3 minutes by 5 minutes, just going somewhere, looking somewhere, or just standing and turning their heads around) is depressing. In general, I watched it only in the hope that future seasons will be written and filmed by other people, otherwise my acquaintance with this series will end this season.
I was pleased with the behavior of my wife, Kanesh. She just left her husband there, in this clearing. Like, "fuck it, I'll take a new one for the promotion in the store." What a disgusting creature.
In general, the series is not scary, but the "monsters" are well made, they look great. Considering the ending, I don't even know what the next seasons will be about, apparently they will continue the theme with the bay

But here they show life. They mocked the little one, so the roof went off.
tragic, with an unusual ending and plot, amazing.
Great season!
We started for health...
She came up with it cleverly.
